Other Galleries

I participate, off and on, in a number of community sites. These include:

  • At the moment I'm pretty active on the all seeing, all encompassing Flickr
  • The site dedicated to photography using FourThirds cameras, myfourthirds. I have my own page there, but I'm dormant these days. I don't really feelthat segmentation by camera type is particularly valid or interesting.
  • I have a portfolio at ePhotozine, which is friendly but pretty crowded!
  • Last, but far from least, I'm a member of Foto Club Lugano, and have some photos published there. So have some other very talented people - take a look!

Resources

The following short list recommends some sites where you can browse for inspiration, opinion, and gossip. There are many out there, but few of them are worth much time, in my opinion. These have stood the test of time.

  • Michael Reichmann's site, The Luminous Landscape is a treasure trove of valuable information, strong opinions, and great photography. It grows in popularity every year, and attracts, invevitably, hordes of ill-informed detractors. Don't miss it, or indeed the unique Video Journal DVD
  • Ian Lyons' Digital Darkroom - Ian has put an incredible amount of work into this accurate and reliable resource. Strongly recommended if you want to understand colour management. And don't miss the photography!
  • Nature Photographers Online Magazine is a vast resource, with extensive, frequently updated articles by professional photographers (including the inimitable Andy Rouse) and a host of interactive areas.
  • Don't miss the website of one of the world's best photo magazines, Chasseur d'Images. Their refusal to play the role of free publicity agency for equipment manufacturers - coupled with the fact that their circulation and influence is much too high for manufacturers to ignore - is always good for entertainment. Certain UK & US magazine editors could take note. Unfortunately another excellent print magazine (also French), Reponses Photo, does not have a website.
